Billy told Franklin after a talk about his lack of spiritual commitment:
I sense there is a battle for the soul of your life. You are either going to have to accept Jesus or reject Him. There is no middle ground. Your Mother and I are praying you make the right choice.
Franklin said later, "At the age of 22, i was born again."
