10 Choices

Tonight, in Bible study, we will look at James McDonald's new book "10 Choices".







James says,"God holds us responsible for the choices that we make. In fact, the Bible is filled with stories of people who made good choices and got blessed, but also who made bad choices and reaped the consequences. I'm thinking about a day when we’re each filled with greater faith in making better choices about our future, a better future that God is waiting to lavish on us. (1 Corinthians 2:9)" --James


Tonight's choice we will study is: I Choose God's Forgiveness

3 points James makes about God's forgiveness:

1. The Fact of God's Forgiveness
“The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin.." Exodus 34:6-7a

"For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You." Psalm 86:5

"Who is a God like You,Pardoning iniquity
And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage?
He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy." Micah 7:18

2. The Extent of God's Forgiveness
"As far as the east is from the west,So far has He removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12

"Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols." Ezekiel 36:25

3. The Blessing of Forgiveness
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." Ezekiel 36:26-27

"Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,Whose sin is covered." Psalm 32:1
