Songs They Don't Sing

James MacDonald describes songs they don't sing at Harvest Bible Fellowship.
What do you think?

I like what he said about the "me" songs. Choruses without hymns are devoid of theology, even if they are quotes from the Psalms (usually divorced from their context).

However "My Jesus, I Love Thee" is one of my favorites. It was in my wedding - I will disagree with MacDonald on that one.

But, good thoughts!

LOL! No, but I heard it was bad. Not looking forward to next Wednesday.

Take care and I hope you are doing well.

There are times in life when God IS so real in your situation that you are deeply in love with Him and want to tell him so. I know of a time when God restored my marriage and I could not sing to Him enough and I have never forgotten what He did. Our words are void of enough substance to define God's worth. We can only try.

So, I guess I agree and disagree because Sargeant James is a little in your face and maybe a little stiff for me. That hymn (My Jesus, I Love Thee) was written in a time where it was not so much about money as it is now. There may have been a greater love involved in that writing than we are familiar with today.

On the other hand, his teaching is awesome!!

I bet his Worship Pastor is a minion! Ten-Hut!!

Worshipper,
You just do what your PASTOR tells you :)
